BAKED DEVILED EGGS (BRUNCH RECIPE)
6 TO 8 HARD-BOILED EGGS 2 1/2 t. PEPARED MUSTARD
6 T. SOUR CREAM 1/4 t. SALT
SAUCE:
2 T. BUTTER 1/2 C. MUSHROOMS, CHOPPED
1/3 C. CHOPPED ONION 1 T. CHICKEN BOUILLON CRYSTAL
1 C. CREAM OF CHICKEN SOUP 1/2 C. CHEDDAR CHEESE, GRATED
1 C. SOUR CREAM PAPRIKA
SLICE EGGS, LENGTHWISE & DEVIL, USING SOUR CREAM, MUSTARD & SALT.
FILL EGG WHITES. MELT BUTTER IN LGE. SKILLET & SAUTE ONIONS UNTIL
TENDER. REMOVE FROM HEAT &STIR IN SOUP, SOUR CREAM, BOUILLON &
MUSHROOMS. PLACE EGGS IN SHALLOW BAKING DISH, SPRAYED WITH PAM.
POUR SAUCE OVER TOP, SPRINKLE WITH CHEESE & PAPRIKA.
BAKE AT 350 FOR 25 MIN.

SURPRISE CAKE
2 cups flour
11/2 tsp baking soda
1 cup sour milk(1 cup plus 2 tsp.vinegar- let stand)
3 eggs
1 cup oil
1 tsp. nutmeg
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. cinnamon
1 tsp. allspice
1 cup cooked pitted prunes, chopped
1 cup raisins
1 cup chopped walnuts
Blend oil ,sugar and eggs well. All all other ingredients (except prunes, raisins and nuts)
and mix well. Then add prunes, raisins and nuts. Grease tube pan. Bake 350 for 65
minutes Let cool in pan for 2 hours. May serve plain or with cream cheese icing.
